There has never been anything pretty about our representative democracy. George Washington warned us against the two-party thing, but we didn't listen.

Neither of the two parties seem to get it right, things happen slowly, and bureaucracy gums up the apparatus. We argue about abortion. We argue about gun rights. We argue about health care.

None of that matters at the moment. Well, it does, but there's something more important that we need to get back on track first.

Our Republic. We just elected one of the worst human beings we've ever produced as president. He lies constantly. He's almost definitely a prolific sexual assaulter. He's a felon, and most importantly (and something I think most folks who voted for him don't understand enough): He does not care about any of us. At all.

I've said this many times, this is all just a distraction so he and his billionaire cronies can skim even more money off the rest of us.

But this is not an anti-Trump newsletter. You see we're past that now. This is not about politics anymore. Now we are fighting to make sure our representative democracy survives. Next year is the 250th anniversary of our great country. Think of the people and generations who fought and died in two world wars and a civil war to preserve our freedoms.

We were passed a torch, people. At the moment, we're dropping it. Big time. We can't be the generation that drops it.

If you have any thoughts to contribute, reach out. Even if you just see something interesting that I missed. I'm starting simple, a couple of links to cool things, and even some humor here and there. Because we are humans, and we still need to laugh.
